Buena Vista Flying Club welcomes the Cheetah XLS

Last month we started instructing students in the Cheetah XLS built by Midwest Sport Aviation at Richland Center Airport, (93C).  If you are interested in learning how-to fly, this is a great opputunity to take advantage of!

  • Dear Buena Vista flying club, my name is Tim Halbach and I am a meteorologist and aviation program leader at the National Weather Service in La Crosse, WI. I have been making contacts with local flying groups from across the region and giving weather talks to these organizations. I couldn't find an email address on this website, so I figured I'd comment here. I am currently on the look out for any general aviation pilots that have or may be interested in taking aerial damage pictures from severe weather (tornadoes, floods, winds, etc) and I would be grateful if you'd send the word around your group there. I also would be willing to come down and give a talk to the chapter at some point in the future to give some background on what aviation services we provide here at the NWS along with some training for the aerial damage picture taking. So, let me know if this would be of any interest to your group and whether you'd be interested in scheduling a talk at some point. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks much!
